App doesnt even work. Complete waste of my money.
App doesnt even work. Complete waste of my money.
I dont know how about on iPad and iPod but on iPhone 4s with 5.01 soft it doesnt open usually. Sometimes I have to try for a couple of minutes to make this app open. Much much worse than wolframalpha. Isnt worth money if it wont be fixed.
Its the physics calculator for real dummies. Waste of money
There are some great things here, especially if you want to check your work on problems for the targeted physics class. Much of this would be the same on a good graphing calculator with a bit of programming. The app does not really use the cool space of the iPad, so it sort of misses an opportunity. The picture shows the force diagram of a block on an inclined plane, as if you might be able to manipulate something using touches and gestures to interactively set up problems and then see their solutions. No such luck. Its almost like a pared-down version of the regular wolfram alpha app, which can be useful, just not as exciting as I expected.
Galileo Galilei, Isaac Newton and Johannes Kepler would have loved to had something like this for their physics classes. Math and physics should be enjoyable. This app helps to stay on that circuitous path.
Its been two weeks that I have this app and I can count on the fingers of one hand how many times I could actually have something solved. Each and every solving requires the program to connect to the Internet, then theres the "Computing..." screen with the spinning logo and the timeout message. Total disappointment.
One of the most useful apps for any student this $3.00 is defiantly worth it.
Physics II works fine on my iPhone 3G (waiting for the maybe soon iPhone 5), but Physics I will not sync into the phone, even though it appears in the app view of the sync window for the phone. After syncing, restarting, and resyncing several times, I tried the "support site", which will let me hire a speaker to speak to my company about the quality of Wolfram products and support, but the site does not allow actually asking questions. Reminds me of Microsoft Word 3, which MS put out without beta testing. I tend not to buy anything from companies that dont respect customers enough to test their products. Are you listening now, Wolfram?
Probably useful for high school physics but too basic for a general physics class in college. Wont really help you solve much
Do you really need an app to calculate .5mv^2? No, a calculator is much faster. If you need this app then youre going to fail phys 1 anyway
This is a great app. When it works. After upgrading to ios 5 it appears that there are no attempts to fix bugs and the problems with crashing.
Keep getting kicked out the app. Can be working a problem on my iPhone 4 and get kicked out. Not good!!!! Other than that its a great app
It woyld really be helpful if you could use this app with out having to have internet or STATING THAT IN THE DESCRIPTION BEFORE I BOUGHT IT!!!!!!!!!!!! Seeing that i cant get wifi it is a waste of 2 buck...could you guys find a way to fix or change that. Besides that the app has alot of potencial.
Crashes like crazy on my iPhone 4s. Not enough info and physics help on this app to be worth the money.
Crashes and can NOT run at all!!!
I find this to be an incredible app, both 1 and 2. I have zero crash issues and it runs every time. Super helpful!!!
Useless. It does not help me at all with my physics homework. Its basically a weak, limited calculator. No instruction or support for physics, its the same as rearranging the formulas. My first app review... Had to do so people wouldnt make the same mistake and waste theyre money on this.
This app can only handle the must basic problems, its not worth the money.
I meant to get number two...
It has potential but it needs to be streamlined. For problems with several unknowns, theres either only one unknown youre allowed to solve for or four different tabs which is really confusing. And you need to be connected to the internet to use it? Im hoping someone comes out with a better physics app soon
